I've always been drawn to the feeling of being in nature, within the trees, under the sky, among the clay. My art stays intimately connected to the earth that inspires it, every step done with intention and eco-consciousness at the heart.

Rooted in the belief that the land is not simply where the work begins, but an essential part of it, I gather elements from the natural world and transform them into the materials I paint with. Earth pigments, handmade paints, botanical inks, and charcoal are created by hand using traditional tools and techniques. Each material carries its own color, texture, and character, shaped by its origins and the process through which it is made.

The process is slow and intuitive, guided as much by listening as by making. I allow the materials to lead, responding to their nuances and leaving room for the unexpected. Through layers of pigment, ink, and paint, each work unfolds gradually, holding something of the land from which it came.

From Earth to Canvas

Sourced from the land

I gather earth, minerals, and natural elements from the landscapes around me, taking only what is needed. Through exploration I search for rich colors and textures that only nature can provide. When a pigment cannot be found locally, I seek out earth-derived materials from sources chosen with the same care and integrity.

Handcrafted, not manufactured.

I gather elements from the land and transform them into the materials I use to paint. Pigments are collected, dried, and ground by hand, then combined with natural binders to create my own paints and inks. Nothing comes ready-made; each medium is built from its raw materials using traditional tools and techniques. I mix each batch slowly and intuitively, allowing its particular tone, texture, opacity, and character to emerge. The resulting materials carry the subtle variations of their origins, making the process and ultimately each piece unique.

Sealed with Nature

Each painting is finished with simple, natural materials, including egg and water. This final, gentle layer preserves the work while leaving it connected to the elemental materials from which it began.

I take on a limited number of custom commissions each year, working closely with each collector to create a piece rooted in the same materials and process as my studio work.
